Of lies, arrests and publicity
Zimupdates ( 22/01/10 )
Since its inception MDC T has strived on fabrication of falsehoods to tarnish the image of Zanu PF with the eventual intent of gaining sympathy from the international community in its attempt to effect regime change in the country.
However, with the formation of the inclusive government one would have thought the party has rid itself of this madness for the sake of commitment to the unity government, but the fabrications have taken another form in which they are manufactured to divert attention from its ill-behaved officials to maintain the façade of its pristine image.
This week the party fabricated the arrest of its Provincial Chairman for Masvingo, Wilstaff Sitemere. The party alleged that Sitemere was arrested earlier this week for unknown reasons with speculation high that he was arrested for denouncing President Mugabe at a rally held recently in Masvingo.
Zimupdates have heard from impeccable sources that Sitemere was never arrested and this was confirmed by Inspector Mateke who in the fabricated story is alleged to have confirmed the arrest of Sitemere. Inspector Mateke told Zimupdates that they never arrested Sitemere and he was even shocked to hear from the media that he had confirmed the arrest of Sitemere. Inspector Mateke was quoted “ we are surprised by the story which appeared in the media as we never arrested Sitemere, we don’t know the agenda of those people who are spreading the story”.
MDC officials who wanted to remain unanimous revealed that on the supposedly day of Sitemere’s arrest he was in Harare where he had been summoned to explain the suspension of six MDC T councilors namely; Femias Chakabuda (Ward 5), Selina Maridza (Ward1), Jacob Gono (Ward 2), Daniel Muchuchuti (Ward 4), Alison Mutumbani (Ward 7) and Boby Valantine (Ward 9) for corruption, maladministration and abuse of office.
The fabrication of Sitemere’s arrest is anyone’s guess, MDC T is embarrassed by the corruption of the officials when before joining government have been accusing Zanu PF of the same conduct. In a bid to divert attention from the corruption story MDC T came up with a ploy to fabricate Sitemere’s arrest.
